2008 Undergraduate Summer Research Program in Mathematical Biology

    About the Program

Pending funding from the NSF, Penn State-Behrend will host an undergraduate summer research program in mathematical biology. Student participants will work in teams with faculty on projects in the following areas: pattern formation in active media, population dynamics, statistical methods to quantify populations, biomedical fluid dynamics and bioinformatics. The program will involve six students. The only academic requirement is completion of a course in ordinary differential equations; no training in biology is required. In accordance with NSF guidelines, students must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States or its possessions. This year's program will be six weeks in Summer 2008; from June 9 to July 18, 2008.
